08. Play Board Games
Before game consoles, or computer games, there were board games. They consist of games that are designed to be played on a table, and have elements of strategy and / or chance. There are many different kinds and variations, and the goal is to defeat your opponent.
One sure way to start connecting with your family members, especially the kids, is by playing board games. One of the most popular ones is MONOPOLY. That game has so many rules, and so many turns, that it will keep everybody busy for hours.
Another family favorite-game is PARCHEESI. This one involves rolling the dice to determine how many steps your piece can take. At the same time, you have to decide which is the best piece to move. This is based on an ancient game from India.
Now, if you want a game that is more of a brain teaser, try playing CHESS. This two-person strategy game will have opposing pieces laid out on squares. The ultimate goal is to find the best way to neutralize the opposing king.
So, whenever you feel like you want to do a home activity that can get the family together, take out a board game, and have some fun.
